Thursday 30th March 10 – 12.30 PM – ‘Rievaulx Abbey’
Using a rapid method of applying paint over a basic drawing we can quickly bring out the beauty of the abbey ruins. A limited palette will give an aged feel, bringing us closer to the colours available to Ann Walker in her time.
Thursday 30th March 1 – 3.30 PM – ‘Shibden Hall Through the Trees’
A moody glimpse of Shibden Hall with high tonal contrast creating drama. Making use of implements other than brushes to paint foliage and trees.
Saturday 1st April 10 -12.30 PM – ‘Anne Lister’s Shibden Walk’
There are so many old paths, steps and ginnels to explore in the valley treading in Anne Lister’s footsteps. Climbing up the steps from the beck to Simm Carr we find this quiet corner to paint dappled light. More quick techniques to paint this symphony of summer greens.
Saturday 1st April 1 – 3.30 PM – ‘Welcome into Shibden Hall’
Behind the façade of the hall, the gardens and the rear gates is the inner yard where all the residents of Shibden Hall went about their daily lives. The palette will evoke past times.
