DESCRIPTION:Celebrating all things hats! This new exhibition examines the style\, function\, and symbolism of headwear in British society. \nShowcasing highlights from the Museum collection and contemporary examples from Yorkshire milliners\, the exhibition traces the evolution of the hat from the bonnet and topper of the Nineteenth Century to Royal Ascot and catwalk showstoppers of the present day. \nWear your best hat to the Museum on Saturday 11th March for our celebration of Hat Day\, with prizes for the best hat and hat-related activities for all the family. \nPlease note that Bankfield Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am – 4pm and closed on Sundays and Mondays. \nAccessibility Information: \n\nDisabled parking is to the rear of building with access via a ramp.\nAll of the Ground Floor is wheelchair accessible (main areas and galleries of museum).\nToilets\, disabled toilet and baby change are all on ground floor.\nLarge print labels are available for exhibitions. and Handling Boxes are available for visually impaired visitors .\nPlease contact us to discuss any requirements\, our staff will be glad to help you.
