Don’t miss rising saxophone star Oliver Martynsson-Parkes performing with Todmorden Orchestra. The young soloist will showcase his playing in Debussy’s Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone and D’Indy’s Varie. The orchestra will also present selections from Arnold, Britten, and Sibelius Symphony No 5.

Oliver Martynsson-Parkes was born in Manchester in 2007 and is a student at Chetham’s School of Music. He began playing the saxophone at 12 and gained a place at Chetham’s 18 months later. In his first year Oliver won the Sinfonia Concerto auditions and performed the Ronald Binge Saxophone Concerto with the orchestra the following year. He has performed in various recitals and has taken part in masterclasses with Alex Bone and Jess Gillam.
