DetailsThe cottage sleeps 2 people in either a superking size Hypnos bed or this can be divided into 2 single beds. The bed offers the ultimate in comfort and you can enjoy a fantastic view through the window too. Like the other rooms, the bedroom is a charming blend of character and luxury with a cast iron decorative fireplace and renovated wooden doors to a contemporary wardrobe and drawer unit inside.
The landing has a desk, in case you have to spend some time working, or space for a cot, and leads to the luxury bathroom. This offers 21st century comfort with pale grey porcelain wall and floor tiles, a shower/bath with digital Aqualisa shower over and a hand shower fitment. The basin is enclosed in a glossy white contemporary drawer unit which matches the cupboards housing the gas central heating boiler and the washer/dryer.
Downstairs there is a modern, fully equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, and dishwasher. An exposed stone wall and mullioned window, reputedly dating back to 1650, provides a traditional feel. The back door leads to a small courtyard.
The sitting room is a spacious, extremely comfortable room with beams and an inglenook fireplace containing a gas cast iron stove. No need to mess around finding logs, this provides instant warmth after a day out. The high quality furnishings and décor reflect the history of the cottage and the artwork has a very local theme reflecting the past with photos of inhabitants, commemorative plates, and pictures of Wainhouse Tower. This landmark can be seen from the sunny, secluded front garden which offers a delightful seating area to take in the views across to Norland.
