Experience the magic of Halifax Minster at Christmas, with their Christmas Tree Festival from the 5th December, the famous Handel’s Messiah performed annually by the Halifax Choral Society, the ‘Abba Merry Christmas’ concert, and a showing of ‘The Snowman’ with live brass music accompaniment.
Celebrate the spirit of Christmas at Shibden Hall on the weekend of the 12th-13th December. Explore the Hall by candlelight and enjoy storytelling and traditional festive decorations on the way.
Since 1633, the historic halls of Holdsworth House in Halifax have been the setting for memorable family gatherings. Join them this December to indulge in festive afternoon tea, festive lunch and dinner in their award-winning restaurant, or even Christmas wreath making.

Christmas officially begins in Halifax on Saturday 15th November as we celebrate Light Up Halifax! Enjoy a full day of festive fun across the town centre – with live entertainment, music, street performers, family activities, plus a laser display at Woolshops at 5.15pm. Make a day of it in Halifax – shop local, enjoy a bite to eat, and experience the magic of Christmas in our town.
There will also be a Christmas Choir singing at Halifax railway station on Saturday 29th November at 11am, so why not plan in some Christmas shopping and make your way over by train?
Don’t forget the two Christmas Market events at Halifax Borough Market – taking place on the 6th and 13th December.
Light Up The Valley presents the Mytholmroyd Light Switch On on Sunday 23rd November 2025. From 12pm – 7pm in Mytholmroyd Community Centre car park, visitors can enjoy a festive market, Santa, live entertainment, children’s rides food & drink plus the all important light switch on!
Light Up The Valley presents the Hebden Bridge Light Switch On on Thursday 27th November 2025. From 2pm – 7pm throughout the town centre, visitors can enjoy a festive market, Santa, live entertainment, children’s rides food & drink plus the all important light switch on!
The Hebden Bridge Christmas Market follows on Saturday 29th and 30th November, with over 70 stalls of locally handmade gifts and crafts, home bakes and street foods to enjoy.
Experience a magical Christmas in Todmorden, sparkling with festive events for all ages. Key dates include the Todmorden Market Christmas Market on Friday 28th November from 5-9pm, which will involve Christmas tree lighting, entertainment and food & drink, including a coffee cart and a gin horse cart! There will also be Christmas carol singing at Todmorden railway station from 4-5pm, so why not make your way over by train?
The main town switch-on is on the 7th December, and the beloved Tractor Run will take place on the 24th December.

Brighouse Christmas Market is back on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November. There will be lots of amazing food, craft & gift stalls throughout the town centre, our brilliant shops, venues and businesses will be open for festive treats & fun, and Santa will be here, of course.
