Christmas at The Piece Hall

Not only do The Piece Hall bring us a spectacular summer’s of music and events, you wont be disappointed with the packed winter programme of over 50 Christmas gigs, shows, workshops and events!

The Christmas Markets start this weekend, bringing some of the regions favourite independent food and drink producers, artisan makers and pop-up street food. Featuring 50 unique stalls with everything from homeware, jewellery, gifts and delicious food to take home. In addition, there will be live music, and for the first time ever there’s a vintage big wheel in the courtyard, complementing the much-loved Victorian carousel, and the 45ft Christmas tree.

The magnificent Spiegeltent also returns bringing something for everyone from crafting, music, DJ’s, choirs, gig’s, parties and much more to enjoy! Tickets are selling fast but here is an at a glance look at what is still available to book, to add some Christmas magic to your festive celebrations.

1st December

Julian & Jiaxin Lloyd Webber – Bach Revealed – Julian Lloyd Webber narrates the fascinating story behind the composition of Bach’s iconic Cello Suites while introducing performances of the Suites by his wife – and fellow cellist – Jiaxin Lloyd Webber.

2nd December – Chris Difford – A new show for 2023 ‘Not Only But Also’ sees the Squeeze star take us on a trip down memory lane looking back on 50 lyrical years.

4th December – Johnny Nelson in Conversation – Get an insight into what life is really like as an undefeated World Champion boxer.

5th December – Sheffield Community Choir – This vibrant community choir has gone from strength to strength after recently featured in Britain’s Got Talent 2023

9th December – Dick & Dom – the quadruple BAFTA award-winning duo, best known for their series Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow and Are You Smarter than a 10-Year-Old, will go head-to-head behind the decks in the Spiegeltent for their legendary DJ Battle.

14th December – A Night of James Bond – A Night of James Bond with Janine Johnson singing these timeless hits and many more will take your mind on a journey to the celestial zones of your inner self, and that’s just the music!

17th December – Halifax Choral Society & Black Dyke Trombone Ensemble – For a third year running, the world’s oldest choral society, making music since 1817, continue their collaboration with The Piece Hall

17th December – Mambo King – A Tribute to Tito Puente – A full night of Latin music and dance goodness, put together by UK salsa legend DJ Lubi, starring some of the best musicians, dancers and DJs in the UK.

20th December – Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra presents The Four Seasons – The masterpieces that are ‘Vivaldi’s Four Seasons have been celebrated in concert halls around the world and in popular culture since their publication in 1725.

22nd December – Kimberly Wyatt (Pussycat Dolls) DJ Set – Pop icon and Grammy-nominated artist Kimberly Wyatt is coming to The Piece Hall this Christmas for an exclusive DJ set.

23rd December – Haggis Horns & DJ Mark Crossley – The legendary 8-piece band will deliver a live funk-fuelled extravaganza combining soul, hip-hop, afrobeat and funky breaks with the virtuosity of trained jazz musicians.

27th December – Live Killers – Thank God It’s Christmas Party – Having performed at Freddie Mercury’s Official Birthday Party in Switzerland this year, Live Killers are bringing their live show to the Spiegeltent for some festive celebrations of epic proportion.

28th December – John Altman – Multi award winning film composer and jazz musician John Altman brings his all-star quartet to the Piece Hall for an evening of music and anecdotes.

29th December – The Frou Frou Club with Cabaret Against the Machine – Lady Wildflower presents… An evening of rock’n’roll music from live band Cabaret Against the Machine with performances from internationally acclaimed Burlesque & Cabaret artists.

31st December – DJ Terry Farley’s New Year Party –  Dance your way into 2024 with House music legend Terry Farley. One of the founders of seminal dance music labels Boys Own and Junior Boys Own Terry has been a key player on the UK house scene for almost four decades helping to launch the careers of acts like Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, Xpress 2 and many more.
