Friday 5th October

The Brighouse Arts Festival begins today, bringing you music, theatre, art, film entertainment, workshops, tours and talks. Please visit the Festival’s website for full details of what’s on, where and when! (5th - 14th October).

Enjoy an exhibition of art and photography at Hebden Bridge Town hall – Ideal Destinations shows hidden corners that the exhibitors have discovered and fallen in love with on their travels. (Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 10am-3pm FREE).

The Russian State Opera presents the opera Carmen at Victoria Theatre, featuring an impressive cast and accompanied by a large live Orchestra with over 30 musicians. (7.30pm from £26.75).

Adapted from the long-running, popular TV series, ‘Allo ‘Allo! is broad comedy, with elements of farce, physical comedy, visual gags, ridiculous fake accents, and a large amount of sexual innuendo. What’s not to like?! See it at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre (7.30pm £6-£10).

If I Should Fall at Square Chapel Arts Centre explores what it means to be at war, at home and away, then and now, asking the question "have we changed at all?" (8pm £10-£12).

Dementia Friendly Sowerby Bridge presents The Last Memory at Sowerby Bridge Working men’s Club; a short and enlightening play by Alan Stockdill, plus a Q & A session after the show. (7.30pm Free event suggested donation £5)

 

Saturday 6th October

Enjoy far reaching views across Hardcastle Crags and the Calder Valley with a Guided Walk to Peckett Well Clough (10am – 2pm FREE Meet by the information point near the National Trust car park at the end of Midgehole Road HX7 7AA. A car parking charge will apply for non-National Trust members).

Fishing for Compliments bring you live music at Westgate Arcade, Halifax (11.30am – 2pm FREE).

It’s your last chance to see ‘Allo ‘Allo! at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre at 7.30pm

 

Sunday 7th October

Take a Taster Tour of Todmorden Town Hall (FREE Meet at 2pm opposite the Town Hall pediment on Halifax Road, OL14 5AQ).

Fresh off the back of her new BBC Radio 4 series (Appisodes) and a Netflix special (Live from the BBC), multi-award winning comedian and regular co-host of The Guilty Feminist Podcast Felicity Ward embarks on her second nationwide tour with a brand new show at Square Chapel Arts Centre, ‘Busting A Nut’. (8pm £10-£12).

The Sensational 60’s Experience is a three hour extravaganza of pure 1960’s nostalgia at Victoria Theatre, Halifax. (7.30pm from £26.75)
