What's On in Calderdale December 21st - 23rd

Friday 21st December

It’s the Winter Solstice and the first day of Winter!

Enjoy a screening of White Christmas at Square Chapel Arts Centre (11am £5 - £7).

Santa is at Westgate Arcade in Halifax every day up to December 24th (11am- 5pm £5 per child - includes meeting Santa and his elves, a gift and a certificate).

It’s the last day of the ARTbound Winter Wonderland Exhibition at Hebden Bridge Town Hall, with art throughout the Cafe and Foyer area (9am – 5pm).

Pantomime fun continues at Victoria Theatre Halifax with Snow White, running until 5th January.


Saturday 22nd December

The Handmade Parade Magical Christmas Menagerie returns to Halifax Borough market with a lantern display, music, entertainment and offers throughout the market.

Sing along to Disney’s cool animated adventure Frozen at Square Chapel Arts Centre (1pm £8 - £10). There’s a 15th Anniversary screening of Love Actually at 7.30pm too (£5 - £7).

There’s ongoing Christmas Fun at the Piece Hall, with a Victorian Photo Booth, Advent trail, Kids Comedy Club (2pm), Elves Christmas workshop making felted Robins (booking essential) the Avalanche Alpine Bar & Grill and all the great shops, bars and restaurants.


Sunday 23rd December

Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life is at Square Chapel Arts Centre (4pm £5 - £7). At 3pm and 6pm there’s festive music and puppetry with The Jolly Christmas Postman, adapted from the bestselling book.

Halifax Minster holds a candle-lit Christmas Carol Service, with music performed by the Minster Choirs, organ and brass. (6.30pm).
