Friday 14th December
At the Piece Hall there’s a Soul Rebels Christmas Special featuring a live set from 12 piece Leeds and London afrobeat/afrofunk band Mansion Of Snakes plus resident DJ Chris Welch. (Doors 7pm £16).
The Actors Workshop Youth Theatre presents its production of the play 12 Angry Men at the Actor’s Workshop, Halifax (Fri & Sat 7.30pm)
The fairest pantomime of them all is at Victoria Theatre this festive season; the magical fairy tale Snow White. (Until Sat 5th Jan, various show times & ticket prices).
Saturday 15th December
The Handmade Parade Christmas Magical Menagerie comes to Albany Arcade in Halifax Borough Market this Saturday and Sunday Christmas for FREE events your family are going to love! (10am – 4pm).
Meet Cinderella and Fairy Godmother in a magical costumed workshop at Shibden Hall (1:15am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3.15pm Booking Essential).
You can meet Santa and his elves at the Westgate Arcade, Halifax. (Sat & Sun 11am – 5pm).
You can also meet Father Christmas in his magical woodland grotto in the woods at Ogden Water (well, he’s magical – he can be in two places at once). Booking essential.
And Santa will be greeting youngsters in his magical grotto at Shibden Park Café (10am – 3pm).
At the Piece Hall you can enjoy a Silent Disco at 7pm (with a Family-Friendly Disco before at 4pm). Mark Thompson’s Spectacular Science Show at 12 Noon is now sold out.
Sunday 16th December
Britain’s daftest magician, El Baldiniho brings his funny magic show especially for kids to The Piece Hall. (Doors 11.30am £9.50 - £12.50).
Explore Historic Heptonstall with Calderdale Heritage Walks. Meet Margaret Nortcliffe at 1.30pm by the Heptonstall Bowling Club Car Park, HX7 7LT (£3)
There’s a free screening of Deep Lock Productions' film, ‘Branwell Bronte's Calder Valley Years ... A Humble Station?’ at The Jubilee Refreshment Rooms in Sowerby Bridge. (3.30pm)
Join Cantorelli for the first of their Charity Christmas Concerts with Eileen O'Brien at Blackshawhead Chapel at 2.30pm followed by a second concert at Heptonstall Chapel at 6pm (FREE with a retiring collection).
The theme for this year's Sowerby Bridge Winterlight Festival is 'The Winterlight Ball'; come along in your best illuminated costumes to help light up Sowerby Bridge and enjoy the live music, great food, performances and fireworks! (FREE 4.30pm- 8.30pm).
