The Brighouse Arts Festival continues through the weekend with live music, author talks, art, a sold out Audience with Brian Blessed and more!

The Halifax Festival of Words is warming up, with events throughout the weekend including author readings and signings, live music, poetry, conversation, readings and more!


Saturday 13th October

The Halifax Festival of Words comes to The Albany Arcade at Halifax Borough Market with live music, poetry, conversation a DL set and more!

Oxjam Sowerby Bridge brings you live music, retro games, music workshops, food & drink and more across several venues in Sowerby Bridge. with FREE entry everywhere. First performances are at 12 Noon.

Overgate Hospice Choir together with Musical Youth Orchestra presents The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace at Halifax Minster (7pm).

Hebden Bridge Literary & Scientific Society presents a talk by Tim Birkhead entitled The Most Perfect Thing; the inside (and outside) of a bird's egg.(Hebden Bridge Town Hall 7.30pm)

At Square Chapel Arts Centre there’s a hilarious musical about how it’s okay to not be okay - ‘A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad’ (8pm)

The Magic of Motown comes to Victoria Theatre, Halifax (8pm)

Sunday 14th October

Explore Walsden with Calderdale Heritage Walks. Meet Anne Mealia at 2.15 pm outside Walsden Railway Station.

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep and doesn’t know where to find them at Square Chapel. Magnificent puppets, fantastic scenery and lots of music for ages 3+ (2.30pm).
