Tour de Yorkshire 2015 in Calderdale
The Tour de Yorkshire, held by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and Welcome to Yorkshire (WTY) and supported by British Cycling came to Calderdale on Sunday May 3rd 2015.
The race was held on 1st - 3rd May (Friday to Sunday) with the participation of top international teams and was broadcast live on national TV and throughout Europe.
Bridlington, Leeds, Scarborough, Selby, Wakefield and York all held a prestigious start or finish of the race.
A mass sportive with several distances was held on day three (3rd May). The Tour de Yorkshire Ride was a unique opportunity for sportive riders in the UK to experience the Tour de France legacy and to pave the way for the pro riders. The sportive took place on the same day and roads as the 3rd and final stage of the Tour de Yorkshire pro ride. Some of the riders and roads used were also in action at the Yorkshire Grand Départ 2014. Three distances and a women only Cycletta were available.
