'Streets in the Sky' Guided Tours

With the current health concerns Corona/ Covid 19 virus we are temporarily stopping the Streets in the Sky tours of Halifax Borough Market.

If you have bought tickets for a Streets in the Sky Tour that was due to take place on Saturday 21st March, Tuesday 24th March or Tuesday 31st March PLEASE KEEP YOUR TICKETS.

Once the Corona/ Covid 19 virus situation has passed and the advice from Government about Social Distancing has been relaxed, we will resume offering the Streets in the Sky Tours.

We will then contact everybody who bought tickets for the March walks above and offer you places on the earliest Tuesday and Saturday walks, so you don’t miss out. If you’re unable to attend these future walks, we will offer you a refund.

Best wishes ,  take care and we hope to see you on a Streets in the Sky Tour again soon.

Visit Calderdale

Did you know that above Halifax Borough Market there are two ‘secret’ streets? Discover them with the weekly VisitCalderdale ‘Streets in the Sky’ guided tour!

On these tours you'll explore the unique architecture of Halifax Borough Market, learn about its history, visit both of the ‘Streets in the Sky’, where some of the houses are still used by the businesses below and a couple are still lived in; and get an exclusive look inside one of the uninhabited houses.

Afterwards you can grab a cuppa and enjoy some food at one of the locally-owned independent cafes and delis in the Market who are offering discounts or a special meal deal for people who have been on the Tour.

The tours are best suited for adult ages and aren't really suited for children aged under 13. Any children aged under 16 must be under close supervision of their guardian/parent at all times. Please note that many steps are involved in accessing both of the Streets in the Sky and the house there, making this tour unsuitable for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility or children's prams. No dogs on this walk, please (although Assistance Dogs are welcome).

Tickets cost £5 per person for all ages (there's no charge for bringing along babes-in-arms) and are available from Halifax Visitor Centre in the Piece Hall, located above Elder. You can book by calling in person to the Visitor Centre or by ringing them on 01422 368725.

If you require your tickets posting to you, this will incur a £1.50 P&P fee. To allow time for the tickets to reach you, please make your booking a week in advance of the walk.

Places on each tour are limited to 16 people. The tour lasts for approx one hour fifteen minutes.

Details of future Tour dates will be announced here, but you can also follow the VisitCalderdale Facebook or Twitter channels for information.
