August Bank Holiday 2018 in Calderdale

In Halifax the Indyfax Festival runs form Thursday 23rd to Bank Holiday Monday 27th August  five day celebration of beer, great live music and independent music venues in Halifax, taking place from 23rd to 27th August 2018 at The Victorian Craft Beer Café, The Grayston Unity, The Pump Room Micropub, The Lantern and Alexandra Beer House. There will be various tap takeovers and music events going on all weekend!

St Martin's Parish Church in Brighouse is hosting a Charity Jigsaw Festival with a magnificent display and sale of hundreds of made-up and new jigsaw puzzles for all ages and interests. Crafts, tombola, speciality raffle, golden jigsaw competition, food will also be available. (Admission: £2 for Adults, accompanied children free. Friday 24th, Saturday 25th, Monday 27th - 10am to 5pm, Sunday 26th- 12 noon to 5pm).

Hebden Bridge Camera Club present their Annual Exhibition of Photography 2018 at Hebden Bridge Town Hall. The exhibition runs from Saturday 25th August to Saturday 1st September (NB closed Sunday 26th August) from 10am to 4pm, with FREE entry.

On Saturday 25th at Westgate Arcade in Halifax there's live music from duo Ste Leech and Richard Sanderson (12.30pm-2.30pm) and  face painting by Julie Dee from Face Ace (12.30pm-3.30pm)!

The Grayston Unity are having a music festival on Sunday 26th August from 3pm onwards in their back yard, with live music from The Blue Orchids, Working Men’s Club, Fez, Thee Windom Earles, Kieron Higgins and The Tragics. (FREE entry).

It’s your last chance in 2018 to ascend the ‘Tower of Spite’! Wainhouse Tower is open from 11am to 4pm (last ascent 3.30pm) Adult £3 Children & Adult Passport to Leisure Holders £2.50.You can also join Calderdale Heritage Walks on The Wainhouse Trail. Looking at J. E. Wainhouse – the man, his properties, his life and his famous feud with Sir Henry Edwards. Meet David Nortcliffe at 2.15 p.m. at the base of Wainhouse Tower. Access on foot from Wakefield Gate, off Skircoat Moor Road. HX3 0HB. (If you're doing both tower and walk – do the tower first.) £3 per person.
