In addition to cinema, the Picture House offers a variety of live events each year, including concerts and theatre.

The cinema is a refreshing alternative to the multiplexes found in most towns, where friendly staff serve delicious hot drinks in china mugs, homemade cakes from the kiosk, and the seating has very generous legroom. All of this, combined with state of the art Dolby digital sound, makes the Picture House a unique and unforgettable experience.

The cinema is available for hire at competitive rates, please enquire on 01422 847287 for further details.

Accessibility Information:

For the hearing impaired we have headsets that offer audio amplification. In addition, subtitled screenings (descriptive subtitling is used where available; captions for speech is used where descriptive subtitling is not available) for the hearing impaired are shown each month. Please refer to our programme/website for details of which screenings have subtitles – these will be shown with ‘S/T’ after the film’s certificate.

For the visually impaired, we offer audio description via a headset, on selected films. Ask at the Box Office to borrow a headset and please refer to our website/programme for details of which screenings are available with this facility.

Easy wheelchair / level access is provided down a gentle ramp on the right hand (park) side of the building. Please use the RADAR facility to alert staff of your arrival, and wait 1-2 minutes whilst someone comes to let you in. You will need a RADAR key to sound the alert to staff (see www.disabilityrightsuk.org for information about the RADAR key scheme and to purchase a key).

There are ten designated wheelchair spaces in the auditorium – four within the seating in the stalls on the raked floor (wedges for wheelchair wheels are available on request) and six at the rear of the stalls seating on level floor. You are welcome to reserve a wheelchair space and adjacent seat – please email info@hebdenbridgepicturehouse.co.uk at least 48 hours before the screening or ring 01422 842807 during cinema opening hours.

We have one accessible parking space to the park side of our building which is available on a first come first served basis for customers who are blue badge holders (please display this at all times and limit parking to the duration of your visit to the cinema). Please do not park on the double yellow lines as access around the building is needed at all times.

An accessible toilet is located in the foyer. We are aware that not all disabilities are visible and we will never question those choosing to use the accessible toilet. The toilet is now Stoma friendly.

We offer occasional (currently bi-monthly) autism friendly (relaxed) screenings usually early afternoons and with family audiences in mind. For more information visit our Autism page

We offer monthly parent and baby screenings with the lights turned up a little and the sound down a notch in order to create a stress-free environment exclusively for parents / guardians to enjoy films with their babies (aged under 12 months).
