The Dene is a Georgian Stone house bed and breakfast set in a quiet rural position overlooking the wooded Ryburn Valley 5 miles from Halifax and 7 miles from the M62, junction 22. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The walled garden, with exceptional azaleas and rhododendrons, is available for visitors to enjoy. Many country walks are accessible from the house, including the 50 mile circular Calderdale Way.

Eureka! The National Children's Museum, Shibden Hall, Bankfield Museum, Keighley, Worth Valley Railway and Bronte Parsonage Museum are all within easy travelling distance, as are the many attractions of Leeds, Bradford and Manchester and the Yorkshire Dales. There are many eating places of various types (Indonesian, Indian, Italian, Chinese, English pub food, modern British) within 2 miles and an excellent restaurant only 0.25 miles away.

A full English breakfast is offered with the alternatives of smoked haddock, a kipper or an omelette. Honey and marmalade are home produced. Packed lunches and evening meals by prior arrangement.

Directions

By Road:
From M62. Leave motorway Junction 22, take A672 to Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge. Ripponden A58, then 1 mile turn left Triangle Inn to Mill Bank. Turn left Sandy Dyke Lane, past road jn uphill past cottages to high wall with 2 chimney pots on left. Turn left here and park alongside wall. Our door is the first left in courtyard through archway.From Halifax, take A58 Rochdale, passing Sowerby Bridge, continue to Triangle. At Triangle Inn right to Mill Bank, follow instruction as above.

By Public Transport:
Buses 528, 560, 561 or 562 every twenty minutes. from Sowerby Bridge towards Ripponden. Get off at Stubbing Lane. Walk up Stubbing Lane. Continue to the left up Dean Lane to wall with 2 chimney pots. Turn left here. The Dene is first door on the left in courtyard through the arch.
