Short Description 14th to 15th October 2017 Mytholmroyd Arts is calling for submissions for an open art exhibition that will launch its annual Festival on 14-15 October. The Mytholmroyd Open will kick off a weekend of activities including the Gurgle Splosher, a playful interactive sound sculpture commissioned for ‘Landlines and Watermarks’. The art competition will be judged by Stella Mays, winner of the 2011 BBC wildlife artist of the year award, painter and textile artist Kate Lycett, and Francis Charlton who is known for his political and satirical artwork. Artistic Director Annie Harrison said, ‘We are looking forward to another exciting weekend. We are delighted to be showcasing the work of local and national artists, and after the success of last year’s Night Market and Fire Show, we will once again be welcoming all ages to take part in our Festival events.’ An action-packed programme of film, theatre, music, and children’s activities will be announced in September. Artists wishing to submit work for the Mytholmroyd Open can apply now and submissions close 22nd September. Please find full details on the Festival's website by clicking on the link below.
