' Me and My Body', 'SoundSpace', 'Our Global Garden': it's all in a day's play at award-winning EUREKA! The National Children's Museum, which boasts 400 must touch-exhibits, where children play to learn and adults learn to play. In Novemebr 2011, Eureka! was Number 1 in The Independent's "Ten Best Hands On Musuems".

Calderdale's museums, Walkleys Clogs, in Mytholmroyd, Dobsons Sweets in Elland and the Todmorden Toy & Model Museum offer you the chance to relive your childhood, too. Have an eco-adventure at our Wildside countryside events throughout the year, including kitemaking, scavenger hunts, themed walks, stream dipping and bear hunts. Spend a day at the popular Jerusalem Farm nature reserve or discover the Jungle Experience at Manor Heath Park with butterflies, quails, terrapins and plants in a tropical setting - just watch out for the dinosuars! Unpack a picnic in one of the many parks and gardens, and enjoy an afternoon of fun, games and concerts in the summer. The People's Park, Halifax is the finest surviving work of landscape architect Joseph Paxton, whilst at Shibden Estate: the gardens, a play area, miniature railway, boating lake and visitor centre have been restored thanks to a multi-million pound Heritage Lottery Grant. There lots to see and do at our other parks, such as Centre Vale in Todmorden, and Calder Holmes in Hebden Bridge.
