Towns and Villages

The towns and villages of Calderdale make the district one of the most distinctive in Yorkshire. From Halifax, the historic hub of Calderdale and ranked "the most complete victorian town in Britain" to Elland and Brighouse,  gateway to the valleys and ideally located close to both the M62 and the beautiful Calder and Hebble Navigation.

The communities on the tops in villages such as Heptonstall, Cragg Vale and Luddenden all feature prominently in the district's history and heritage and are well worth a visit, offering picturesque locations, superb views and many local events.
