That is accommodation that has been externally rated by either Quality in Tourism (who run an assessment scheme for all types of accommodation) or the AA, who run an assessment scheme for ser viced accommodation (Hotels, B&B's, guest houses) only.

This policy is a national and regional policy and the policy of all Local Authorties in Yorkshire and is aimed at ensuring that the quality of service received by the customer is standard across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

 West Yorkshire Tourism Partnership Minimize

The West Yorkshire Tourism Partnership is a partnership of the five West Yorkshire Local Authorities (Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield), Yorkshire Forward, Yorkshire Tourist Board and the private sector aimed at developing and delivering projects that help increase the value of tourism to the region by 5% per year.

The partnership has received £1.5 million of funding from Yorkshire Forward, the Region's Development Agency, a mix of both capital and revenue monies to support projects which also require match funding from other sources. The partnership is overseen by a board consisting of senior officers from all five authorities, private sector members and the Yorkshire Tourist Board and is supported by a West Yorkshire Tourism Manager and a technical group of officers from each Local Authority.  The chair of the board is Simon Dunn, of Yo Yo's restaurant in Bradford.

Projects that the West Yorkshire Tourism Partnership are developing and delivering include.

Project Description
Business Tourism Led by Leeds City Council. All Business Tourism activity to be combined under one conference desk based in Leeds. Opportunity for significant marketing via new guides, exhibitions and the appointment of a PR agency, improved research and statistics, networking for venues and bidding for large scale events for the West Yorkshire area. All business tourism venues can be included on the www.conference-leeds.com website free of charge.  Capital and revenue investment.
Rural Yorkshire Pennines A project involving Bradford, Calderdale and Kirklees Council.  This project includes capital monies to enhance strategic bridleway routes on the ground in each of the three areas to create routes that are accessible to all. Supporting this work is the development of a marketing campaign based on attracting visitors to the Yorkshire Pennines area, encouraging them to stay longer. In Calderdale this means the Upper Calder and Ryburn Valleys.  The campaign will be predominately web-based followed by more traditional media and will commence Autumn 2008.  The Pennines are as attractive as the Dales and the North York Moors which have a far higher profile.
Sculpture West Yorkshire Led by Wakefield Council and Yorkshire Culture there is recognition of the outstanding contribution that sculpture makes to the distinctiveness of West Yorkshire. With the opening of the new Barbara Hepworth Gallery in 2010 there is an opportunity to look at how links can bde made. Project is in its early stages
Group Travel One of the unique selling points of West Yorkshire is the opportunity for groups within the district. With national museums, market towns, mill shops and historic buildings could we be doing more to link opportunities together and create itineraries for longer stays. Research has been commissioned and suggests greater marketing and integration of the poduct across the area. Project will be developed and a proposal put to the board for consideration
Destination Management System (the DMS database) Yorkshire Forward have helped all of the region purchase the database system that runs the accommodation, events and attractions search on the www.yorkshire.com website, which links to the national website and also our local www.visitcalderdale.com website.  This means providers can update information once then it is displayed various times.  Capital funding allocated
