It is the policy of Calderdale Council, in line with national policy, to promote only quality assessed accommodation. That is accommodation that has been externally rated by either Quality in Tourism (who run an assessment scheme for all types of accommodation) or the AA, who run an assessment scheme for serviced accommodation (Hotels, B&B's, guest houses) only.
This policy is a national and regional policy and the policy of all Local Authorties in Yorkshire and is aimed at ensuring that the quality of service received by the customer is standard across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
There are many benefits of quality assessment, including in particular marketing via websites and at local, regional and national level, the opportunity to advertise in widely distributed brochures, and promotion through Tourist Information Centres as well as the opportunity to enhance your property through suggestions made by the assessor.
