Today is your last chance to take a look through the Bulging Portfolio of Quentin Blake at The Artworks, Halifax (12pm-3pm)
Halifax Minster’s Summer Festival is underway. Tonight brings you candlelit tours of the Minster, where you can meet living history characters who have helped shape the town and its Minster.
The Hebden Bridge Arts Festival heads into its final weekend; with Kate Evans launching her award-winning new graphic novel ‘Threads from the Refugee Crisis’ (Hebden Bridge Town Hall 8pm, Doors 7.30pm £7/£5)
Join in with the Elland 700 celebrations and say I am Elland with this exhibition of art, photography and writing by local students, followed by a celebratory concert featuring local musicians including Elland Silver Band and Elland Male voice choir, headlined by Lizzie Jones. (From 6pm £10)
Take an unflinching look at identity politics with the play Octopus, at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts (8pm £12). You can also enjoy Sounds of Stage and Screen a spectacular evening featuring music from Sister Act, Evita, Mary Poppins, Hello Dolly! The Lion King and Les Miserables, together with a medley of James Bond classics, and film music from the legendary John Williams. (7.30pm £15).
Laugh your way into the weekend with Dick & Liddy’s Comedy Club at Victoria Theatre (8.30pm £12).
Saturday July 1st
The Halifax Food & Drink Festival returns for two days packed with live cookery demonstrations, workshops and of course, stalls and stalls of fabulous food and drink! (Sat & Sun FREE)
Needle Felt a Hedgehog at Word of Mouth in Hebden Bridge (1pm £20 booking essential)
There’s a Comedy Club for Kids as part of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival (1.30pm & 3.30pm £7/£5)
McFly's Wine & Cocktail Bar in Halifax is holding a Pretty Parade, bringing you fashion, fun and cocktails raising money for the ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund' and 'Breast Cancer Awareness'. (From 4pm £5)
Halifax Minster Choir perform live as part of the Minster’s Summer Festival (7.30pm £5)
Sunday 2nd July
In the estate of Castle Carr, the famous gravity-fed fountain will once again rise magnificently into the sky! This is your only chance all year to enjoy this spectacular event (2pm £5 ticket only)
It’s the last day of the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and the Street Sunday brings you weird and wacky entertainment in St. George’s Square as a festival finale! (1-5pm FREE).
Rokt Climbing Gym is having a Ladies Day - only £25 for a full day of Rope Climbing, Bouldering and Caving. Climb the UK's highest outdoor climbing wall as a special addition! (10.30am – 5pm Booking Essential)
There’s a K9 Party in the Park at manor Heath Park, Halifax, with free admission (but donations welcome!) into the party, this is one event certainly not to be sniffed at. There will be more than enough dog-themed activities than you can shake a stick at. (Noon-5pm FREE)
