Friday 18th August

The weekend kicks off with the Saxophone Massive at Piece Hall, Halifax. Tickets are sold out for this massive musical feat, but if you’re very lucky, you may be able to pick up a ticket if there have been any cancellations (8pm FREE but admission by ticket only)

 

Saturday 19th September

The Brighouse Summer Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, bringing you a great weekend of family entertainment, with over 70 stalls of locally produced foods and crafts, loads of street food, free canal boat rides, live music, real ale and much more!

It’s the official Piece Hall Welcome Weekend packed with music, dance, comedy and theatre; bringing the Piece Hall's courtyard to life with an array of colourful artists from around the world. Expect creative, spontaneous and downright silly performances. (FREE no need to book, just turn up Noon – 5pm).

Enjoy Dance at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts with Dance Connections: 3 More in Common  - a brand new contemporary dance-musical. (2.30pm & 7.30pm £12/ £10)

It’s Ranger Day at Hardcastle Crags - get a behind the scenes look at how they protect and manage the ancient woodland. Kids can come and cook on a campfire, make bug homes and watch exciting big-machine demonstrations. Bat boxes, bird feeders, charcoal and picnic blankets are just a few of the items that will be on-sale to help raise money for woodland conservation. (10am-4pm FREE).

 

Sunday 20th August

Harvey's Army host their Pawsome Pooch Party at Manor Heath Park, Halifax! Attractions include a Fun Dog Show, Charity & Trade Stalls, Doggy Cafe & Pub, Rides, Bouncy Castle, Have a Go Agility, Flyball and much more! (10.30am – 4pm FREE).

Watt Studios in Brighouse are having a Summer Open Day. Come along to enjoy FREE taster sessions! There's more fun for you in the form of charity raffles and games too. (1pm-5pm FREE).

Join Calderdale Heritage Walks to explore a fascinating old churchyard in Lightcliffe. Meet Ian Philp at 2.15 p.m. at the old Churchyard on the A649 opposite the Sun Inn, Lightcliffe. HX3 8NT (£3)
