Hebden Radio was first launched in July 2016 by Dave and Lauren Moses. We are a fully independent Commercial radio station with a Community feel, broadcasting online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our aim is to go live and we will have the wavelength 87.7FM for the whole of July, and from August we hope to be live full time on 103.7FM.
Hebden Radio has recently moved into new premises and we now have greater space and better accessibility, so this is the ideal time for you to learn more about us and, hopefully, work with us. We are based at Dean Hey, Cragg Road: a beautiful part of the Calder Valley well worth a visit for the scenery alone. Although we are new, we have already been involved with the Christmas lights switch on in Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd, and we broadcast live from St. George’s Square at the Easter Monday Duck Race. We have broadcast live coverage of the Hebden Bridge Folk and Roots festival in May, and we are involved with the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival taking place in the summer, Rotary Clubs in Todmorden and Elland and with Elland's 700th anniversary. Our chosen charity to support this year is Andys Man Club.
Our ethos is to attract and promote local businesses, services and organisations throughout the Calder Valley and beyond, promoting local events as well as trying to get Cal Comms on board to feed us local Traffic information. We are in the process of starting up a new local sports programme on a Saturday evening, which could include a total round up including Sunday fixtures.
We rely heavily on our loyal band of volunteers, who have many years’ experience of radio between them. By 2018/19 we would love to be in in a position to employ local staff in full time and part time positions.
We have a dedicated and hardworking team of 17 volunteer presenters and 4 daytime volunteers which is growing everyday with new volunteers coming on board.
