The main towns in the Valley – Brighouse, Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Walsden are all accessible via the 'Caldervale' railway line. Northern Rail operate a regular weekday and weekend service and with great day rover fares there’s no reason to make your journey more stressful. Grand Central also operate three trains a day that will take you to Halifax or Brighouse Railway stations from London King Cross in only three hours. Regular bus services operate to all the main towns, although frequency in the smaller villages and rural areas is more limited. Uopp to date timetables are available from West Yorkshire METRO.
If you want to travel by car, parking information for towns is available on the Calderdale Council website. Most towns contain a mix of both short and long stay parking – follow the ‘P’ signs. Please note at weekends and during peak events, roads along the Valleys can become quite congested, but the wait is certainly worth it.

The M62 motorway runs along the southern edge of the area, with access from junctions 21-26 and there are good connections with the M1, M6 and A1. The main routes through the borough include the A58 from Leeds to Littleborough via Halifax, the A646 from Halifax to Todmorden, A629 from Huddersfield to Elland, Halifax to Keighley, and the A672 across the Pennine Moors.

| The Caldervale line runs through the area with stations at Halifax, Brighouse, Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Walsden and Todmorden. Trains run hourly from Blackpol North to York via Hebden Bridge and Halifax, and from Leeds via Bradford to Manchester Victoria via all stations every 30 minutes. It is also possible to travel to Leeds via Dewsbury from Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge. A direct service operated by Grand Central runs from London to Halifax and Brighouse three times a day.
